Mission Carlsbad is our week long mission focus for our local area. We will have more than 170 students and 200 adults from several local churches, denominations, and organizations  come together to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our town.

Every year, Mission Carlsbad works on 20-25 homes in the Carlsbad area that are desperately in need of repairs that their owners cannot afford.  This usually means replacing several roofs, painting inside and out, and building accessibility ramps, but has included replacing air conditioning units, patching holes in ceilings and walls, replacing windows and many other things.  All work is done by volunteers who give up an entire week of their summer to help others they don't even know.

Mission Carlsbad's motto has always been "Repairing Homes and Restoring Lives".  We strive to not only repair the problems with the homes we work on, but to show the owners of the homes that Jesus can be a solution to their spiritual and personal problems as well.  The homeowners are always invited to our closing worship service and given a chance to speak their heart to the assembled group.  Since 2003, this has been a truly life-changing week for many people, both volunteers and home owners.

How and When To Apply

In January 2018 we will release our applications to the Southeast New Mexico Community Action Corporation (SENMCAC). They serve as the first step in the qualification process. To apply for Mission Carlsbad 2018, pick up an application from SENMCAC, fill it out, and turn it back in to them. After they verify certain information, these applications are turned over to our selection board, and recipients are then chosen based on our ability to address the specific need. If you are not chosen the first year, please continue to reapply!

We understand that the need for home repair in Carlsbad and Loving is significant. This year (2017) we had over 60 applicants and unfortunately, not everyone was able to be selected. Each year we make an effort to take on more projects, but we are limited by funds and volunteers.

Help us serve more of our community by donating money, equipment, or your time. With more resources, we can care for more people.

Volunteers are needed for many different areas, construction experience is not required, only a willing spirit. (Click the link at the top of the page to learn how you can get involved)
